Bean and Lu lead Legends

Golf Betting Lines

04/24/2010 - Savannah, GA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Andy Bean and Chien Soon Lu used a fantastic back nine Saturday to fire a 12-under 60 and move atop the leaderboard after the second round of the Legends of Golf.

Bean and Lu are at 19-under 125 and are one ahead at The Westin Savannah Harbor Resort and Spa.

First-round co-leaders Mark O'Meara and Nick Price posted an eight-under 64 on Saturday and are tied for second place with Blaine McCallister and Bob Tway, who had a 63 in round two. The teams are knotted at 18-under 126.

The other first-round leaders, John Cook and Joey Sindelar, teamed for a seven-under 65 on Saturday and are alone in fourth place at minus-17.

This event is played in a better-ball format, so scores are low. It didn't look like Bean and Lu would be going that low. The pair had three front-nine birdies, but caught fire on the second side.

Bean holed out from the fairway with a nine-iron from 125 yards for an eagle at the par-four 10th. Lu sank a 10-footer for birdie at 11, then Bean knocked it close at 12. It didn't matter since Lu ran home a 40-foot birdie putt at that hole to put the team at 14-under par.

Lu converted a three-footer for birdie at 13 to keep the momentum going. One hole later, Bean hit it inside a foot and tapped in for the team's fourth straight birdie.

Lu hit an eight-iron to two feet to set up another birdie at the par-three 15th. Bean holed a 15-foot birdie putt at 16 and a six-footer for birdie at the 17th.

The team was 19-under par and parred the last. The final tally saw the tandem go 10-under par from Nos. 9-17.

"It was one of us all the time throwing the ball at the hole, and that's what you have to do in a team event," said Bean. "We're just happy to be where we are, and we're in good shape for tomorrow."

It's not bad for a team that wasn't supposed to play together this week.

Bean was scheduled to play with Jerry Pate, who withdrew with a knee injury.

"He ended up withdrawing just at the right time," Bean joked about his former partner. "We have one more round to play, but I'm sure I'll be getting a phone call from Jerry."

Hale Irwin and Larry Nelson fired an 11-under 61 on Saturday and moved up to fifth at 16-under 128.

Fred Couples, already a three-time winner this year on the Champions Tour, and Jay Haas posted a six-under 66. They are tied for sixth with Dan Forsman and David Frost, who teamed for a seven-under 65. The two teams are knotted at 15- under 129.

Defending champions Bernhard Langer and Tom Lehman (63), Andy North and Tom Watson (66), Russ Cochran and Mark Wiebe (64), Brad Bryant and Lonnie Nielsen (67) and last year's runners-up Jeff Sluman and Craig Stadler (66) share eighth at minus-14.

NOTES: Ken Green returned to competitive golf this week after he lost his leg in a car accident that also killed his brother and girlfriend. Green and Mike Reid had a six-under 66 and are part of a group tied for 17th at 11-under par.

Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament odds
As of February 9, MySportsbook.com has released its coveted 2007 Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament betting odds. “March Madness betting ” only a month away, the top ranked Florida Gators are favorite at 7-2 to win it all. The defending champs have not disappointed at all this season and currently have a 22-2 record and are undefeated (9-0) in SEC play. The Gators’ thrive off of their extremely balanced, experienced and versatile attack. All five starters started in last seasons National Championship game. What is most impressive with this group is their balance; the five starters all average between 10.7 and 13.6 PPG. The Gators have been on an absolute roll having won 15 straight by an average of 16.4 PPG.

Right behind the Gators are the 5th ranked UNC Tar Heels at 9-2. The Heels (21-3, 7-2) are absolutely loaded with top notch talent and are as deep as any team in the country. A concern for the Tar Heels might be inexperience. Of their top four scorers/ minute earners, three are freshmen and the other is a sophomore. The rest of the regular season, the Tar Heels play only one team that is currently ranked (Duke). Their remaining opponents do combine for an impressive 107-58 record though.

Other teams that the MySportsbook.com members seem to believe will win it all include the west coasts’ top team #2 UCLA (6-1), #3 OSU behind man-child Greg Oden (8-1), and #4 Wisconsin (10-1) behind their defense which has given up 70+ points only three times all season.

Below is a list of some of the favorites to win the 2007 Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship lines. For the full list of teams and March Madness odds be sure to log onto MySportsbook.com.
