Cowboys add two FCS stars among their rookie signingsFootball Betting Lines04/25/2010 - Irving, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Dallas Cowboys announced the signings of 17 rookie free agents Sunday, among them FCS standouts Eastern Washington quarterback Matt Nichols and Elon wide receiver Terrell Hudgins. Nichols set 14 school records and eclipsed six Big Sky Conference marks while at Eastern Washington. As a senior last year, Nichols threw for 3,830 yards and 33 touchdowns. His 12,616 career passing yards are sixth all-time in FCS history. Hudgins holds 10 NCAA receiving records and achieved nine of those his senior year when he ended runner-up to Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards for the 2009 Walter Payton Award, which honors the top offensive player at the Football Championship Subdivision level. He eclipsed four records held by 2010 NFL Hall of Fame inductee Jerry Rice, including the NCAA mark for most career receptions, which now stands at 395. Hudgins also tops NCAA annals with 5,250 career receiving yards. The 6-foot-3 wideout caught an FCS-record 123 passes for a Southern Conference-record 1,633 yards and led the nation in receiving yards per game (136.1) and receptions per game (10.3) in 2009. The Cowboys also agreed to terms with wide receivers Alfonso Greer and Verran Tucker, running back Lonyae Miller, offensive linemen Will Barker, Mike Tepper, Chet Teofilo and Phil Costa, tight ends Simon Harris and Nick Tow- Arnett, fullback Chris Gronkowski, nose tackle Junior Aumavae, safeties Danny McCray and Barry Church, defensive back Bryan McCann, defensive end Lorenzo Washington and kicker Delbert Alvarado.

Both center Jeff Saturday and quarterback Peyton Manning gave New Orleans’ front four props, admitting keeping guys like Will Smithand Charles Grant contained would be a tall task for the offensive line. New Orleans ranked second in total defense during the preseason at a sportsbook, allowing just under 233 yards per game. Last season, the defense finished 11th in the league after giving up 307.3 yards and 20.1 points per contest. Not so sound on the ground If Indianapolis' efficient offense has a weakness it has to be its running attack.
