Mavs get Dominique Jones from GrizzliesBasketball Betting Lines06/24/2010 - New York, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Dallas Mavericks acquired guard Dominique Jones from Memphis in exchange for cash considerations during Thursday night's NBA Draft. Jones, who played at South Florida, was selected at No. 25 by the Memphis Grizzlies, but the Mavs reportedly spent $3 million to acquire his rights. "We tried to trade into the top 20 to get Jones, got lucky to get him (at) 25," Mavs owner Mark Cuban said on his Twitter feed. He had First Team All-Big East honors this past season as a junior and led the conference in scoring and overall averaged 21.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists. He ranks fifth all-time in USF history in scoring with 1,797 career points.

The Dallas Mavericks have the best record in the NBA (44-9) and have been absolutely scorching since the second week of the season. The addition of Chris Webber seems to have been a good move for the Pistons. Since coming over from the 76ers, Webber has averaged 13.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG and the Pistons are 11-4. Even though the defending champion Heat are currently on the playoff making cusp, they are the Eastern Conference team that is getting the most action to win it all (9-1). The fact that Shaquille O’Neal is back in the starting lineup after missing 39 games probably has something to do with this. No doubt, Shaq makes a difference when in the lineup as their winning six out of their last seven would indicate.
