The Mavs, meanwhile, got back on the winning track Wednesday when Jason Terry and Josh Howard scored 21 and 19 points, respectively, to pace Dallas to a 110-101 victory over the struggling Golden State Warriors. Dirk Nowitzki added 20 points while grabbing seven rebounds, and Shawn Marion added 18 and nine for the Mavericks, who put a halt to their three-game slide and keep a 2 1/2 game edge over San Antonio in the Southwest. Jason Kidd played facilitator with 16 assists and six steals for the Mavs, who received a 16-point effort off the bench from Drew Gooden. Golden State dropped its seventh straight game despite a career-high 46-point performance from Monta Ellis, who shot a scorching 17-of-23 from the field. "We found a way to grind it out and get a win," said Nowitzki, who played the fourth quarter with a wrap on his hand after taking a hard foul from Ellis in the third quarter. Dallas, which hasn't lost to the Timberwolves since Jan. 4, 2006, can match the NBA's longest active win streak against an opponent on Friday.
